Drama As Edo Commissioner of Police Restrict Anti Petrol, Cement Prices Increment Protesters In Edo There was a mid-drama at the early hours of Monday in Benin as officers from the Edo State Police Command  in Benin City,  cordoned off the entrance into the Museum, Ring Road, Benin following a protest by aggrieved civil rights groups in the city. The protesters had converged at the Museum early today to kick off the their protest when the police came and locked them inside as they said they were acting on the order from the commissioner of Police The Civil Right groups who also reside in the state were to protest the hike in fuel and cement prices, as well as the increase in building materials and other commodities. POS Operator Who Collected Ransom For Kidnappers, Arrested In Edo Operatives of Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of Edo Police Command, have nabbed an operator of Point of Sale (POS), accused of assisting armed robbers/kidnappers to collect money from victims’ bank accounts. The suspect, Gadimoh Ofei Bright (29), was arrested on Tuesday, at Igarra, capital of Akoko-Edo local government area of the state, following discrete investigation through technical intelligence on a kidnap case. In the said case, several persons, including one Emmanuel Umuekele were kidnapped and robbed around Ugbowo axis of Benin City. Money was transferred from the victims’ bank accounts as ransom to another bank account, before they were released. The kidnap suspect who owns the bank account is presently cooling off in police custody. Justice Ityonyiman said the court would receive the report of the out-of-court settlement deal between the two parties on the adjourned date.
