ALGON Crisis: Maje-led IMC raises alarm over alleged fraudulent moves by Alabi to flag-off NAMTAXS

As crisis continues to rock the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria, ALGON, the Interim Management Committee, IMC, led by Hon. Abdulahi Maje, yesterday, raised the alarm over alleged fraudulent moves by Hon. Alabi Kolade David led faction to the Flag-off of National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme (NAMTAXS) on Thursday, in Lagos. This was contained a statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, IMC, Hon. Ashonibaire Jide, where it alleged that there are plans by Alabi and his cohorts in conjunction with ATD Global Security Services inviting President Muhammadu Buhari, other highly placed officials and the general public to the official flag-off ceremony of the National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme (NAMTAXS) in support of the National Transit Insurance Scheme (NATIS). APC reconciliation panel receives 35 petitions over congresses

  The Senator Abdullahi Adamu-led nine-member National Reconciliation Committee of the All Progressives Congress has, so far, received 35 petitions from aggrieved members over the last Ward, Local Government and State Congresses. The Chairman of the Committee disclosed this after a meeting in Abuja, on Tuesday. He expressed hope that the committee would do justice to all the petitions and unite the party ahead of the Party’s National Convention scheduled to hold in February 2020. He said, “At this point in time, we have something in the region of plus or minus 35 petitions. NAF female personnel killed by snakebite inside toilet in Abuja A Nigerian Air Force female officer identified as Lance Corporal Bercy has died after she got bitten by a poisonous snake when she sat on the toilet seat in her room. Reports said the snake made its way into her toilet bowl (WC) and bit her on Saturday at her residence at the Airforce Base, Bill Clinton Way, Airport Road, Abuja. She was rushed to the medical centre, but she didn’t survive and was pronounced dead at the medical centre The snake is suspected to have found its way into her home through the Septic Tank to the Waste Dislodger. A snake whisperer was said to have been called after the incident to remove the huge reptile from the toilet. Efforts to get the NAF authorities to speak on the development has so far proved abortive as even text messages are not responded to.

IPOB’s secessionists gathering in Edo, says DIG Deputy Inspector-General of Police (DIG) in charge of Operation Restore Peace in Southsouth geo-political zone, Moses Jitoboh, has disclosed members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) are gathering in Edo State. He revealed the IPOB members were secretly meeting at Igbanke, Ubiaja, Iguelaba, Igueben, Okhiahe and Ologbo in Edo state. Jitoboh spoke in Benin at the launch of operation restore peace in the Southsouth zone. POS Operator Who Collected Ransom For Kidnappers, Arrested In Edo Operatives of Anti-Kidnapping and Cyber Crime Unit of Edo Police Command, have nabbed an operator of Point of Sale (POS), accused of assisting armed robbers/kidnappers to collect money from victims’ bank accounts. The suspect, Gadimoh Ofei Bright (29), was arrested on Tuesday, at Igarra, capital of Akoko-Edo local government area of the state, following discrete investigation through technical intelligence on a kidnap case. In the said case, several persons, including one Emmanuel Umuekele were kidnapped and robbed around Ugbowo axis of Benin City. Justice Ityonyiman said the court would receive the report of the out-of-court settlement deal between the two parties on the adjourned date.
