Just In: Former Edo Commissioner Shot Dead In Jos

Gunmen have killed a former Police Commissioner of Edo state, who was also a Senior Special Assistant to Benue Governor Samuel Ortom on Security, AIG Christopher Dega (Rtd) in Jos, Plateau State Capital.

Christopher Dega was shot  severally in the chest  by gunmen on Tuesday.

The AIG, Dega had a brilliant career in the Nigerian Police Force and was twice Commissioner of Police in Borno and Edo States.

He hailed from Katsina Ala local Government area in Benue state .

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
