Operatives of the Anti-kidnaping and Cyber Crime Unit of the Edo State Police Command has arrested two suspected secret cult members in Benin city, Edo state.

They were arrested by the police while on a routine patrol along Benin-Sepele Road bypass near Etiosa Community in Edo state.

However, the police intercepted an ash colour Lexus 330 car Jeep with Registration number FUG 571 SB with two occupants

Upon searching the vehicle, one pump action gun and some items suspected to be Indian hemp were recovered.

The Suspects were identified as Imasuen Raymond, 32, and Precious Ajayi, 24.

A statement signed by the Edo state Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bello Kontongs, said the suspects admitted that they belong to one of the deadly secret cult groups in Benin City. The statement said the suspects would soon be charged to court

The statement further said that the Edo state Commissioner of Police, CP Philip Aliyu Ogbadu, has reinstated his commitment to a crime-free Edo state and consequently directed all Area Commanders, DPO’s and Tactical Commanders to intensify visibility patrol within the state to check the activities of criminals in Edo State.
