 The candidature of Dr. Eric Osayande as the Ikpoba-Okha PDP Chairmanship candidate has continued to receive boost as the council of Imams in Ikpoba-Okha have thrown their weight behind his re-election bid.

Meeting the Imams as part of his campaigns schedule, Dr. Eric Osayande appreciated the Imams for the continued  harmonious relationship they have had since his first term administration as the Ikpoba-Okha council Chairman.

Dr. Osayande stated that his administration was that which totally operated an open door policy which ensured zero tolerance for religious discrimination.

He also formally informed the council of Imams of his re-election aspiration to consolidate on the gains achieved in his first tenure while also promising them to continue to listen and help resolve issues of their interest in the locality.

Also speaking, the Ikpoba-Okha PDP chapter chairman, Pastor Paul Osazuwa thanked the Imams for the warm reception given to the campaign entourage and emphasized that the Muslim community has always enjoyed harmonious working relationship with the Gov. Godwin Obaseki's administration in the State in general and Dr. Osayande's first term administration in particular; hence, the party's visit to seek their support for the re-election of Dr. Eric Osayande as the Ikpoba-Okha council boss having done well in his first tenure.

Reacting, the Secretary of the council of Imams, Malam Saleem AbdulSalaam who spoke on behalf of the Imams appreciated the efforts of the Secretary to the Edo State government, Barr. Osarodion Ogie towards their peaceful coexistence with other indigenes in the locality as well as Dr. Osayande for his antecedents while in office.

Malam AbdulSalaam further assured Dr. Osayande of their massive support for his re-election aspiration.

Prayers were thereafter made by the Imams for Dr. Eric Osayande's re-election victory.

On the entourage of Dr. Eric Osayande were Pastor Blessed Ighiwiyisi, Elder John Adodo amongst other members of his campaign council.
