The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.  The National Assembly Election Petition Tribunal sitting in Asaba, Delta State, has nullified the election of the member representing Aniocha/Oshimili Constituency at the House of Representatives, Mr Ngozi Okolie. Ngozi Okolie of the Labour Party, LP, was declared the winner of the February 25 House of Representatives election in the federal constituency by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. The immediate past Minority Leader of the House of Representatives and candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ndidi Elumelu, filed a petition he before the tribunal praying it to disqualify Okolie. Elumelu, in the petition no EPT/DL/HR/06/2023, argued that Okolie was not properly sponsored by the Labour Party and that he did not resign his position as a public office holder. The three-member tribunal panel headed by Justice A.Z. Mussa, in it’s ruling, disqualified Okolie and declared the runners-up in the election, Ndudi Elumelu as the winner of the election.
