Zamfara PDP Youths Reject Fake Gubernatorial Flag Bearer


Clear Majority of PDP Youths and Women Will Not Accept a Fake Gubernatorial Candidate from Fraudulent Nomination Exercise 

( A Special Investigative Report/ Opinion Poll Conducted by Northwest  On-Line News and anchored by Kaduna-based independent journalist Nura Dahiru)

A recent opinion poll and investigative report conducted across the fourteen (14) Local Government Areas of Zamfara State clearly  shows that nearly 80 percent majority of the card-carrying youths of the PDP  are opposed to the imposition of  a fake gubernatorial candidate on the party. The opinion poll clearly indicate that the PDP youths closely followed the process and procedure for the gubernatorial primary contest that was conducted on 25th May , 2022 by the Committee headed by Adamu Maina Waziri. 

 According to a popular PDP Youth Leader in Bakura Local Government Area, Hamza Mubarak, the 25th May exercise ‘’ really made our members very sad as we were expecting a free and fair exercise to choose our next Governor’’. Mubarak continued , ‘’ the APC is not popular in our state, we can defeat the APC , but our members are not happy now because we were not allowed to select our candidate for the election ‘’. 

Most of the Youths that were interviewed said that the reports given to them by the delegates who attended the 25th May event was very disappointing because’’ the real members of the party were not allowed to vote’’.  A prominently vocal 28-year old PDP activist from Bungudu LGA , Muhammad  Abdulkadir bluntly stated that  ‘’ the APC has woefully failed the people of Zamfara State, but we want the PDP to do what is right for 2023’’.  Abdulkadir continued with a warning , ‘’ we the youth will organize , we shall fight for the party to give us the transparent governorship candidate, but if the PDP fails to give us the right candidate, we will carry our votes to another political party’’.

All across the local governments, the women leaders of the PDP said that they feel disgraced by the way that the Adamu Maina Waziri shamefully  treated the women delegates that were supposed o participate in the primary election . The female PDP activist did not necessarily want their names identified in the Northwest Report , but they were vehement that they will not respect a party that does not respect women delegates. One of the prominent women interviewed said that a coalition of 50 ( fifty ) PDP women organizers were recently approached by another political party in Zamfara State. Our interviewee revealed that the PDP women told their visitors that they will make a decision depending on how the PDP treats the matter of their rude exclusion from the PDP primary.

Most of the PDP youth activists that were interviewed warned that the party must be cautious not to fall into the trap of repetition of history. The respondents to the Northwest  Report  said  that there three strong political parties currently in Zamfara State indicating that they will move to another party if PDP refuses to follow due process with transparency in nominating the flag bearer for the 2023 election.

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
