Oredo LGA Infuses Political Democracy with Economic Empowerment

Oredo is building on the strong state-wide economic foundation structured by Governor Obaseki 

Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde Commissions Power Transformers, Water Boreholes and Town Hall in Communities around Iyekogba

Access to clean water and electricity are matters of high priority to Oredo Council


The Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde has restated the commitment of the administration to providing the vital amenities and facilities needed for improvement of life conditions and for stimulating economic activities in the Council area. 


Hon. Osunde renewed the Council’s commitment while commissioning various projects including power transformers, water boreholes and Town Hall facility in two communities around Iyekogba in Oredo Local Government Area.

At the Evbokuden Community where Hon. Osunde commissioned a power transformer, a Town Hall with water borehole, the Council Chairman said that’’ it was the Governor’s passionate economic philosophy that even the remote communities of the state were made beneficiaries of the dividends of democracy.’’

The Oredo LGA Chairman said that the Council believes that it ‘’owed the people an obligation and responsibility to deepen the progressive economic initiatives of the State Government in every corner and neighborhoods of the Council’s jurisdiction.’’ 

At Okpebor community also in Iyekogba vicinity where Hon. Osunde commissioned another set of power transformers and water borehole project, the LGA Chairman remarked that the Council dearly holds the view that ‘’ the engine of  political democracy must be dutifully oiled  with economic empowerment.’’ 


The Oredo LGA Chairman said that the administration will continue to ensure that all communities in the Council area felt the positive impact of government in their lives.

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
