Edo State Chapter of ALGON Congratulate Gov. Godwin Obaseki on his Victory at the Poll

Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) Edo State Chapter

EDO PEOPLE AND VOTERS HAVE SPOKEN!

CONGRATULATIONS TO OUR GOVERNOR ON HIS RE-ELECTION FOR A SECOND TERM.

The Edo State Chapter of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON) hereby extend  its profound congratulations to  His Excellency , Governor Godwin Nogeghase Obaseki on the victorious outcome of the Saturday , September 19th election in which the Governor was massively and  resoundingly  re-elected for a second term .

The outcome of the gubernatorial election was undoubtedly emblematic of the premium trust and remarkable respect that the indisputable majority of Edo people have for the Governor.

It is poignant to note that the 2020 Edo Governorship election is being veritably chronicled as one of the most free and truly fair exercise of democratic franchise by the people in recent Nigerian history. What was witnessed during the election was an approximate constitutional and democratic seizure of power by the people as the legitimate repository of our political sovereignty. There are incontrovertible narratives from electoral Wards across the state where thousands of ordinary voters exhibited extra-ordinary sense of civics by rejecting and resisting the corruptive influence of the disgraced All Progressive Congress; Edo voters heroically refused and robustly pushed back against the attempt by the APC to corrode their conscience and consequently buy their votes.

What the failed disorganized political party of desolate broomsticks failed to recognize is that Governor Obaseki has changed the culture of political reasoning in Edo State with a resultant paradigm shift in the factors that determined previous elections.

Rather than mortgage their conscience and thus afflict their individual and collective political destiny, Edo voters choose a future of enhanced infrastructure in addition to expanded network of roads boosting rural to urban commerce particularly with the modernization of the agricultural sector. Edo voters wanted continuity in the Governor’s revolutionary educational strides placing our State in a national location of pride. Edo voters were not willing to witness a catastrophic relapse of the previous years of deficit of vision and the squander of our collective resources as it was before Governor Obaseki’s emergence.

Saturday, September 19th will long be remembered as the day that Edo people arrived at a crucially consequential crossroads in our generational history and the voters choose a path that will further distance them from the Biblical Egypt-like land of economic and political pestilence and bondage.

For us in ALGON, we have and will always feel humbly privileged and fortunate to be serving our people at this time under the leadership of a Governor with unimpeachable profile of economic technocracy, political progressivism, accountability in stewardship and financial transparency.

Edo Voters Have Forthrightly Answered the Call of History, Any Attempt to Invalidate the People’s Mandate Will be Massively, Formidably, Peacefully and Courageously Resisted by Edo People. It’s Time for all Edo people of Goodwill to offer their Support without further Distraction to enable the Governor focus on the duties for which he has been resoundingly re-elected.

ALGON enthusiastically congratulates our amiable Governor with the best wishes and prayer for another successful and remarkable second term of office.
