Armed thugs storm Eagle Square, security beefed up at Aso Rock gate


Armed thugs are currently gathered around the Eagle Square located in the Three Arms Zone in Abuja .

The youth, some without shirts and many others in black, were still holding sticks and walking round the square.

The situation has made armed policemen and soldiers deployed in the Supreme Court gate of the Presidential Villa , be on red alert .

Soldiers manning the Cenotaph directly opposite the Eagle Square are also on standby.

Up the road , tight security was also noticed around the Court of Appeal premises and the Police Headquarters .

Policemen on horses and inside Arrnoured Personnel Carrier are keeping watch around the police headquarters.

The # EndSARS protests rocking the country have continued for almost two weeks with youths calling for a lasting reform of the Nigeria Police Force.

All entreaties by politicians and business leaders for the youths to leave the streets failed as they block major highways , thereby, causing gridlock and affecting economic activities .

Suspected hoodlums had also hijacked the # EndSARS campaign in some cities , wreaked havoc on citizens and vandalised public assets in Lagos , Benin , Abuja , amongst other major cities .

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
