Oredo People Have Reasons for Double Celebration 

‘’ As we celebrate Nigeria’s Independence Day, We equally celebrate the political liberation of Edo State from the claws of dictatorial powers outside our Government.’’

‘’ As Governor Obaseki strengthens the economic and political South-South family , our nation will equally flourish ‘’

The Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde has observed that Nigeria will benefit from the’’ potentials of a flourishing South-South economy ‘’that will evolve from Governor Obaseki’s unique role in the geo-political region.’’

Hon. Osunde’s view was contained in a media statement released in Benin today to mark Nigeria’s 60th independence anniversary.

The Chairman further remarked that the people of Oredo have justifiable reasons for double celebration following ‘’ their unequalled contribution to ensuring the second term victory of Governor Obaseki and thereby catalyzing the liberation of our governmental system from some dictatorial personalities.’’  Continuing, Hon. Osunde stated  that’’ the kind of nobility of thought  and enviable sacrifice  which Oredo people displayed during the 2020 Edo State Governorship election was worthy of emulation by the rest of the nation .’’ 

Hon. Osunde concluded his message with the hopeful prayers that ‘’Nigeria’s journey into enhanced  adulthood will equally manifest signs of greater economic and political dividends  for the citizenry in the years ahead.’’

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
