APC FLAG-OFF WAS AN EMBARASSING FAILURE

—PDP Believes in the Culture of Democratic Pluralism 

—Gov. Obaseki Will Re-emerge Without Loss of Lives

The Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Areas Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde says that there is a ‘’   marked distinction in the way that EDO State PDP reacted to the flag-off of the APC gubernatorial campaign as against the manner in which the Progressive Congress attempted to disrupt the flag-off of the PDP on Saturday, July 25th.  According to Hon. Osunde, the Edo State leadership of the PDP’’ did not in any way contemplate creating riotous atmosphere to obstruct the launch and the flag-off of the APC today, Saturday August 8th.’’

‘’ With such a distinction in conduct, Edo State PDP leadership has displayed affinity for galvanizing the culture of unhindered democratic participation and adherence to constitutionalism whereas the APC sees violence and anarchy as their ( APC) pathway to victory.’’ 

Continuing, Hon. Osunde said that ‘’ I’m personally proud that the APC national visitors who passed through Oredo Local Government Area today witnessed a hospitable atmosphere engendered by people and a party that is inclined to civilized democratic practices.’’

The Oredo LGA Chairman further noted that ‘’ from the Airport to the Oba’s Palace and everywhere else, our Governor and the PDP leadership ensured that the APC visitors to Benin were given peaceful space to conduct their campaigns unlike the anarchic  jungle characteristics which the APC exhibited when the national PDP visitors came for a similar exercise.’’

‘’ Edo State electorate must be vigilant to discern  the  difference  between a political party  that wants to peacefully canvass for their votes and the other treacherous organization  that seeks to swim in the pool of people’s blood to unconstitutionally  seize their ballots’’, Hon. Osunde counsels. 

‘’ Our Governor and the PDP will not spill blood for ballots’’, he emphasized .

The Oredo LGA Chairman concluded that the ‘’ ultimate 2nd term victory of Governor Nogheghase  Obaseki will not be impacted by the thuggish pattern of APC conduct aimed at causing mayhem and bloodshed on the streets of Edo State.’’
