Oredo LGA Chairman Hon. Osunde Urges APC to Maintain Peace

Hon. Osunde Assures of Violence-free election in Oredo LGA


The Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Council, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde has expressed concern over the tendency of the leaders of the APC to generate tension ahead of the 2020 Edo State gubernatorial election. Hon. Osunde made the remark in Benin while addressing PDP Ward 6 members on mobilization strategies for the upcoming election.

The Council Chairman noted that ‘’ it was disgusting to watch a supposed major political party like the APC descend into unrestrained acts of violence as its principal campaign strategy. ’’

 Continuing, Hon. Osunde observed that the’’ APC is displaying an astounding deficit of vision as the party seems less interested in peacefully selling its programs and candidate but rather organizing and sponsoring attacks on the PDP gubernatorial flag bearer.’’

Hon. Osunde contended that the signals were clear as to the direction that the mass majority of Edo electorate was inclined. ‘’ Nothing will sway the Edo electorate away from the path of progressive continuity as represented by the PDP candidate, Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki’’ , the LGA Chairman  affirmed. 

The Council Leader concluded that September 19th was a date for the reaffirmation of the political will of Edo electorate noting that the polls will’’ unchangeably reflect the redemptive fusion between  the aspirational prayers of the people and the voice of God.’’

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
