Nigeria Union of Teachers Endorse Gov. Obaseki

The OREDO CHAPTER of the Nigeria Union of Teachers (NUT) has pledged its full support for the re-election of Governor Godwin Nogeghase Obaseki in the September 19th election. The union recently at a ceremony in Emotan Primary School, Benin-City stated that teachers in the Oredo Local Government Area were profoundly enthusiastic about the second term bid of the Governor.

 


According to the Oredo Chairman of the NUT, Mrs. Omoregie Grace who led the delegation to the ceremony, ‘’ Governor Obaseki has enhanced the pride of professionalism for educationists in the LGA.’’ The NUT leader emphasized that Obaseki’s administration has displayed unprecedented care for the welfare of teachers as well as the pupils. ‘’ We do not want our education system to suffer a relapse to the old terrible years hence we are resolved to mobilize our members in support of the Governor’s second term’’, Mrs. Omoregie Grace explained. 

In is response to the endorsement by the NUT, the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde said that the union has taken a patriotic  stance that  will be most beneficial to the posterity of Edo State.

According to the LGA Chairman who presided at the ceremony, ‘’ the union of teachers are a crucial part of the fabric of the society and so their voices represent an accurate political barometer for measuring the pulse of the people.’’ ‘’ I can say with all confidence that your historic endorsement is equally a durable metric for measuring the level of popularity and acceptance of the Governor by the Edo State electorate ‘’, Hon. Osunde remarked. 

The LGA Chairman concluded the leadership of Governor Obaseki has significantly redeemed the pride of Edo State in every comparative assessment for educational performances among various states of Nigeria. 

The endorsement ceremony was attended by the Education Secretary , Oredo LGA , Mr.Osawe Osagie , the Secretary ( Oredo NUT), Mrs. Florence Isidahome as well many top officials of the NUT and the Oredo Council officials and Head teachers .

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
