Buhari was pressured to see Ize-Iyamu- Elrufai

You cannot refuse to attend his flag-off and also refuse to meet with him--  SGF Boss Mustapha tell Buhari

It would be recalled that on June 22, 2020, Mr. Osagie Ize-Iyamu emerged the APC candidate of Edo Gubernatorial election holding on the 19th of September 2020. However, efforts made by some party leaders to present him before Buhari as their custom is has since proved abortive as Buhari himself refused to see him siting his corrupt tendencies and allegations made by Oshiomhole against him as major reasons for avoiding him.

However, in a sudden twist, pictures have now emanated from Aso-Rock of Buhari handing the APC gubernatorial flag to Ize-Iyamu against Buhari’s earlier stand not to see him. But the governor of Kaduna state, Alhaji Elrufai has said Buhari was pressured by people who are also corrupt like Ize-Iyamu to see the Edo gubernatorial candidate. In his words “ we know them and we know what they have been doing. Mr. Ize-Iyamu has been to Abuja on several occasions to see Buhari but the president refused the request but few days ago more pressure was mounted on him and this for me is not a good sign and it betrays our anti-corruption fight”

Mr. Elrufai insisted that it is just a formality as Buhari himself doesn’t rate Ize-Iyamu and sees him as Tinubu‘ boy. “Well, its a formality. Buhari doesn’t believe in Ize-Iyamu. He sees him as Tinubu‘ boy. One of the boys Tinubu will use from the South-South to further his presidential ambitions should Ize-Iyamu wins. But Buhari has his own mind” he added.
