The Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde has sent messages of felicitation to the Muslim community in Oredo on the celebration of the sacred ceremony of Eid-El-Kabir and the Sallah celebrations.

Hon. Osunde remarked that the period of the Eid-El-Kabir represented one of the holiest period in the Islamic calendar and a period emblematic of the spirit of magnanimity and sharing among Muslim believers.

The Council Chairman observed that the Muslim community represented a revered integral part of the Oredo community in a way that defines the peaceful and beautiful multi-religious character of the LGA.

Continuing, Hon. Osunde said that the Local Government has witnessed remarkable peace between various religions in the area and urged for greater understanding and cooperation among leaders and followers of the various faiths.

Hon. Osunde particularly urged the Muslim leaders and their counterparts in other religions to specially pray non-violence and peace during the Edo State September 19th gubernatorial election.

The LGA Chairman humbly reminded both the Muslim celebrants and the larger society to remember the need for maintenance of the Covid-19 protocols particularly the prescriptions for wearing masks and to socially distance to prevent the spread of the virus.
