EDO STATE ALGON FELICITATES WITH DEPUTY GOVERNOR SHAIBU ON HIS 51st BIRTHDAY 

Comrade Shaibu’s progressive orientation has been an impetus for increased grassroots democracy. 

The Association of Local Governments of Nigeria commends the quintessential Leadership Qualities of the Deputy Governor


The Edo State Branch of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria ( ALGON)  has sent message of congratulations to the State’s Deputy Governor, Comrade Philip Shaibu on the celebration of his 51st birthday.

The association remarked in a statement today that the Deputy Governor has exemplified the best tradition of dedicated service to humanity. According to the statement by ALGON, ‘’ Comrade Philip Shaibu  has  risen from youth and students’ activism to  the premiere arena of electoral politics with the acquisition of legitimate credentials of a worthy leader and trusted ally of an equally progressive Governor.’’

Continuing, the association comprising the elected  leadership of all the 18  Local Government Areas  noted that ‘’ the fearless conduct and indefatigable courage displayed by Deputy Governor Shaibu in the 2020 historic march for enthronement of peoples ‘ democracy in the Edo State will remain indelible in the chronicles of times.’’ 

The Local Government Chairmen added that ‘’ the quality of the character and quintessential leadership profile displayed by Comrade Shaibu during the recent  internal APC crisis is a brilliant testimony to the sense of honour and dignity which defines the Deputy Governor.’’

ALGON expresses confidence that the political affinity and the synergy existing between Governor Obaseki and the Deputy Governor will spur increasing dynamics to propel Edo State to greater height as a political and economic powerhouse in South-South Nigeria and beyond.’’

The Association wished the Deputy Governor more years of healthy birthday celebrations as well as higher level of accomplishments in the service of the people.

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
