Situated off Reservation Road in Benin-City ( No.3 Oguola Crescent ) The Tavern has already made its mark in the hospitality  and entertainment arena of Benin-City . According to the Chief Operating Officer of The Tavern, Ken Eso-Adigwu,’’ we have lived up to expectation in our one year of existence.’’


It was therefore a Bold and Beautiful Birthday Celebration for The Tavern on Sunday. The attendance of guests presented a smooth societal mixture and mirror for Evening/Night life in Benin-City. Some would even say that The Tavern birthday celebration felt like a Convention of the ‘ Big Boys’ wrapped with  finest extraction of feminine allure in an ambience serenaded  with the  rendition of Live Jazz music for the evening .

 Deputy Governor Philip Shaibu was there to cut the birthday cake for The Tavern. No long speech except a summation of how Governor Obaseki’s administration was boosting the economy in every sector including the hospitality industry.


Speaker Marcus Onobun of the Edo State House of Assembly, Prince Austin Eweka and almost a formidable detachment of Bini Club members were present. From Oteghe Adams to Peter Obaseki, Henry Iyasere and Dan Sule, the celebration had enough personalities to make the evening special as it was . 

Not to forget, the co-sponsor of The Tavern one year celebration, Brewers of blended Scotch Whiskey, Chivas Regal, did not disappoint. In addition to the flow of the highly rated whiskey, the company held its own corner of the celebration with the presence of an enchanting team of Chivas Models.

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
