Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde Felicitates With the Benin Monarchy 

‘’Igue Festival is one of the phenomenal spiritual and cultural uniqueness of Benin people as the cradle of Black and Human Civilization’’ Hon. Osunde Declares

The Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde, has sent message of felicitation to His Majesty, Oba Ewuare 11 and the legatees of Benin heritage worldwide on the celebration of the Igue Festival and the eve of Ewere celebrations.

According to a statement issued in Benin over the weekend on behalf of himself , the political leadership as well as the management and staff of the Council,   Hon. Osunde said that the’’ ancient quintessence of the Igue Festival as a period for spiritual rejuvenation was fittingly relevant as prayers for the challenges of our contemporary society.’’ 

Continuing, the Council Chairman said that Igue Festival was one of the epiphany in the majestic and mysterious history of the globally revered civilization with remarkable advanced governmental systems long before the colonial intervention in the affairs of Black humanity. 

Igue Festival is about reflection and celebration of the events that shaped the history of Benin people and lives in the vast continental territories to which the Benin Empire spread.’’

Hon. Osunde particularly noted that the Oredo Local Government and its residents have benefited immensely from the royal paternity of the Ogidigan adding that the state ‘’was equally blessed with our Monarch’s collaborative efforts in accelerating successful implementation of the economic development programs projected by the state Government.’’

‘’As we celebrate this moment of spiritual and cultural great significance in Benin history, I must also express our deep appreciation for the stabilizing role of the Monarch in ensuring peace and unity in the state’’, Hon. Osunde remarked.

Hon. Osunde concluded the press statement with adulations and invocations that’’ the centuries of divination for the majesty and  mystery, the prosperity and promise of the Benin Palace will never diminish, that the Umogun will flourish as the sacred channel between the celestial and terrestrial benevolent spirits of our land, that the reign of Oba Ewuare 11 will synchronize and elevate  the quintessential benefits of the Igue Festival and the Ewere Celebration for the Kingdom . Oba Ghator Okpere .’’

Hon. Osunde further observed that the festival was of great significance as a period to celebrate the accomplishments of the Uku Akpolokpolo , Oba Ewuare 11

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
