There has been a number of developments in Edo APC in the last few weeks following the unending crisis in the Party; the battle has been a long-drawn one between the performing Governor of Edo State, Godwin Obaseki and the suspended National Chairman of the APC, Adams Oshiomhole

Yesterday, an Abuja court affirmed Oshiomhole's suspension, ordering the withdrawal of his security apparatus, and that Oshiomhole should stop parading himself as a member and National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress; as it stands, Oshiomhole is neither the National Chairman of the APC nor a member; he stands naked, stripped and unprotected

Meanwhile, Gov. Godwin Obaseki yesterday, announced his resignation from the APC, citing Oshiomhole's underhand dealings, high-handedness amongst other irregularities as reasons for his resignation; Obaseki has said that his specific next line of action will be made known in a few days time

It is believed that the APC may not eventually field any candidate in the forthcoming Edo gubernatorial election as the Ag National Chairman, Victor Giadom has cancelled the kangaroo screening conducted by Oshiomhole's compromised committee which on June 12, brutally and illegally disqualified Godwin Obaseki and cleared Ize-Iyamu, a non-member of the APC to run

Ize-Iyamu's qualification and membership of the APC is currently been challenged in court, and reports from impeccable source has it that he (Iyamu) may be nailed, as he did not join the APC properly, making him ineligible to run for Governor under the Party; reports reaching us has it that Iyamu is currently in hot search for Oshiomhole to return the N740Million he paid to evade screening

Meanwhile, as earlier predicted by political watchers, Osaro Obazee has stepped down for the ineligible and illegal aspirant, Ize-Iyamu; Obazee was brought on board by Oshiomhole to play a spoiler role, he was not mentally, physically, morally and financially prepared for the race

It is expected that Pius Odubu will tow Obazee's path in a few days and step down for Iyamu, bringing his (Odubu) ambition to an abrupt end; some of Odubu's followers has expressed disappointment saying that Odubu lacks self motivation, determination and depends wholly on Oshiomhole to make any move(s)

As the days go by, and as millions of supporters of Godwin Obaseki at home and in the diaspora awaits Mr. Governor's specific next line of action, it has been advised that the Governor should continue with his course to the PDP; even though the Governor has not publically announced his joining the Party, current realities however suggests that the performing Governor may soon join the PDP as Oshiomhole, going by his overbearing influence, high-handedness, rascality and lawlessness has reduced the fortunes of the APC in Edo State; many Edo people have lost faith in, and withdrawn support for the Party as the APC may not participate in the forthcoming Edo guber election

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
