The Edo State chapter of the National Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) , has congratulated Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki , for his emergence as the 2020 governorship candidate of the Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) and the presentation of the Certificate of Return to His Excellency by the National Chairman of the party, Prince Uche Secondus 
 
In a statement released to the media over the weekend, the State Chairman of ALGON, Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde remarked that ‘’ the entire political leadership of all the 18 Local Government Areas are fully committed to the re-election of the Governor’’. 

Continuing, Hon. Osunde asserted’’ that there was an unbreakable consensus and solidarity among all the LGA Chairmen in the state to ensure that the momentum of socio-economic progress under the incumbent Governor is not disrupted.’’
Hon. Osunde who is also the Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area said that the leaders of ALGON as front line grassroots representatives of the people are acutely aware of the positive impact that has been made on the lives of the citizenry by Governor Obaseki’s administration . 

The ALGON Chairman observed that Edo State stands to double its speed of growth and development in various fronts with the overwhelming re-election of Governor Obaseki. ‘’ On the contrary, Edo State will 
suffer mournful regression under an APC Government ‘’, Hon. Osunde concluded.

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
