‘’The departure of Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki from the APC was an enviable act of bold resistance against the sordid impunity and the woeful deficit of internal democracy particularly in the 
National Working Committee of the party ’’, 

According to a statement released to the media by , Hon. Evbareke Jenkins Osunde , while reacting to the historic PDP membership registration of the Governor i 
on Friday. 
Hon. Osunde who is the Executive Chairman of Oredo Local Government Area noted that the ‘’ the APC through the noxious arrogance of some of its national leaders has lost a, uniquely accomplished and very popular governor, especially in the South-South region of the country’’. 
He further remarked that by joining the PDP, Governor Obaseki could become a national catalyst for a new model in party 
management whereby dictatorial tendencies are discouraged especially by national officers of political parties. 

‘’The case of Governor Obaseki would become the teachable reference point for those national party leaders who fail to recognize that electoral supremacy rests in the hands of God and the people at the local levels ‘’, the Oredo LGA Chairman posited.

Hon. Osunde further stated that the people of Oredo celebrated the selection of a formidable new platform by the Governor remarking that ‘’an overwhelming segment of the Oredo constituency have been waiting anxiously for His Excellency, to indicate the new direction in which the people would 
advance, for realization of the vital second term aspiration on behalf of the besieged citizenry.’’ 

Continuing, the Council Chairman explained that consequent on the movement of the Governor to the PDP , the people of Oredo can be rest assured that the giant strides of socio-economic development and civilizing political reforms started by the Governor will be consolidated and continued till 2024.’’

Chairman Evbareke Jenkins Osunde concluded and declared that ‘’Oredo is Ready ‘’ to engender the progressive momentum for the re-election of Governor Godwin Nogheghase Obaseki as a providentially 
destined and politically irreversible agenda of the people.’’

Shaibu, Edo Deputy Governor resumes work in his new office

The Deputy Governor of Edo State, Philip Shaibu, on Tuesday morning, officially resumed work in his new office at 7, Dennis Osadebey Avenue very close to Edo state government house. This was after noticing that his former office in government house have been locked up by security men attached to government house.  Recall that on Monday, Philip Shaibu claimed that he had not received any official communication for him to relocate to the new office, he also said it was only the civil savants attached to his office that was relocated.  He was seen standing  by the entrance to his former office, which was under lock. He was also seen making a call to an unknown individual, pleading to help him call the governor to know why his former office was locked. Shaibu was also complaining to the unknown individual that he was yet to receive any letter asking him to relocate.
